A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Piano Lessons & Workshops

Individual lessons are weekly and crafted to each student's progress.
Piano workshops happen once a month and are for all students to come together
and perform their pieces in an informal gathering.

This unique experience is the backbone of the Cobb Piano Studio
and the reason for the success of the students
.

"The workshops have been such a wonderful piece of our education and performance readiness. My daughters are loving and appreciating music, and learning to discuss and evaluate music. There hasn't been a single time they haven't been excited to head to lessons or workshops."         Kathy, December 2022

Music Theory & Composition

Music theory and composition classes now offered independently from keyboard classes.

Susan is an absolute joy and incredibly patient. I love the way she teaches piano and connects with each child on a personal level. I couldn’t ask for a better piano teacher. The skills and lessons my child is learning from her will last a lifetime. She’s become such an important part of my child’s story. I can’t recommend Susan enough, and learning piano has truly been one of the best decisions we’ve made. It’s a priceless skill that will benefit my child forever.

"My children, 11 and 14, have flourished with Susan van Wyk's teaching.
They switched to Susan after practicing for four years with two different teachers. Susan quickly go
t them playing music that they enjoyed and that challenged them. Their growth this last year has been tremendous. What I most like about Susan's teaching, besides her ability to find music they enjoy playing, is that she teaches them how to be self motivated, engaged learners using methods that they can apply to every aspect of their education."

"Susan van Wyk of the Cobb Piano Studio is an amazing asset to Lake County. She is knowledgeable & passionate about her craft. She has an uncanny ability to connect with her students and takes such delight in their accomplishments. She inspires excitement about, not just learning to play the piano, but in learning to appreciate different genres of music. As her students' progress in their abilities, she encourages them to push beyond their comfort zone by giving them challenging musical pieces to master. She absolutely LOVES teaching piano & cherishes her students, keeping in contact with many of them even after they've completed their studies with her. Our family will forever be grateful to Susan for the unique gift and confidence that learning the piano has given our sons."

Renée Chastain, 2010-2019

--"Susan van Wyk has brought a tremendous depth of musical understanding to both my wife and my daughter. Her teaching approach is truly geared to each student’s individual needs. Learning to play the piano is one small part of what is accomplished with her. Music theory, technique, emotional intensity, and music history all come into play in her instruction. What a gift to have her studio in our little community. Thank you Susan for all you do for your students!"
